Arcadia Historical Homes are located south of Paradise Valley and West of Old Town Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona. Arcadia is not a city, but rather a highly desirable area within the Phoenix city limits. Arcadia is a fan favorite of locals who want to live in this coveted neighborhood with sprawling lots and highly acclaimed schools. The general boundaries for Arcadia fall between 44th Street and 64th Street and Indian School to the Camelback Mountains. Homes between 32nd Street and 44th Street are referred to as "Arcadia adjacent".
The original developers of this area divided the Arcadia Tract in 1919, into five to 10 acre lots. They mandated that no home be constructed for less than $5,000 to purposefully attract the more affluent buyer (however in the 1930's this was changed to $10,000). To this day there original purpose is still in effect, as older homes are being torn down and new palatial homes are taking their place.
